LEADING TECHNOLOGY EXPERT CHOOSES NORTH EAST AS BASE
27 February 2006
The Centre for Advanced Industry (CAI) in North Shields has enhanced its reputation as the place to be for high-tech firms, with the signing of their latest tenant.
One of Europe's leading specialists for 'Interoperability', Keith Organ has chosen CAI for his latest venture - Arkitec Software. Founded in May 2005, Arkitec Software has established itself as an authority in the field, which enables enterprise class software applications to coexist and work together even though they have been built using different and often competing technologies.
Keith commented: "I moved to the North East when I was 13 years old, studied at Sunderland University and was keen to stay in the area with my own firm. Moving to CAI was the only choice for my company. It offers first class IT infrastructure and resources, excellent facilities for meeting clients and opportunities to network amongst similar leading-edge companies."
Following work with Microsoft in Seattle and the publishing of a co-authored book on Interoperability, Keith's expertise in this field was established. Subsequent workshops in several European countries have also attracted high demand.
Work with numerous European flagship companies followed, but Keith was keen to return to Newcastle and establish his own business. This gives him a chance to exploit his knowledge of Interoperability, plus business opportunities in software development, e-commerce and training.
Keith added: "Our company's offering is unique and I wanted a location that fitted with the ethos of my firm. We are able to offer products that are best of breed in all areas in which we are involved. At CAI we get the core facilities needed by high-tech companies, such as high bandwidth broadband and Diesel generator power backup, plus room to expand our current workforce of two as demand dictates."
