FABRIAM EXPANDS IN THE NORTH EAST
28 May 2008
The Fabriam Centre, one of the region's most successful business centres, has just announced ambitious development plans. The changing ownership of the former Atmel site to Highbridge Properties provides the Fabriam Centre with a chance to expand further.
Already more than 30 technology based businesses are tenants in the Fabriam Centre, which is located in the newly renamed Cobalt Business Exchange in North Tyneside. It currently only has a few vacant offices, but there is plenty of available space to be converted for any type of SME.
John Williams, general manager of Fabriam Places which manages the centre, said: "We can now offer a seamless pipeline of accommodation to any business - from very small to global organisations. The Cobalt Business Park is already the UK's largest business park and therefore an ideal location for any business. We will work hard to ensure that small and medium sized companies have access to world class premises and support.
He added: "We have tenancy periods that suit SMEs in their start-up phase but also when they are more established. Our flexible office systems allow them to expand or, if necessary, downsize without the hassle of moving address."
The Fabriam Centre opened in 2003 as a joint venture between microchip manufacturer Atmel and Fabriam (formerly known as NEMI). It quickly established itself as the leading business centre for technology based companies in the region. Tenants include Ascari, CPI, DDL, EMAX Consulting, IGAWare, Northern Digital, Platform One, Security Risk Management, Silverlink Software and TrackaPhone.
It has provided start-up facilities to university spin-offs like Northern Digital and Zullatec and international investors such as itCampus from Germany and Fronter, Oilinfo, NEVacancies and Metafocus from Norway.
The Fabriam Centre was designed with the specific needs of technology companies in mind. It has a world class, high speed, dual broadband internet capacity, which fully supports the infrastructure needs of technology based companies.
Tenants of the Fabriam Centre have 24/7 secure access to their offices and free meeting rooms, which are equipped with the latest communication and presentation facilities. The complex offers free car parking and a well serviced public transport network. Close by are also pubs, restaurant, various retail outlets, hotel and leisure facilities.
