NORTH EAST CALL CENTRE CHOSEN FOR LARGEST GLOBAL LOYALTY PROGRAMME
21 November 2006
Dubai based TII Menalco has chosen local specialist EMAX Consulting to deliver a global loyalty programme called Selektpoints.
One critical element of the programme is the creation of a new contact centre dealing with customer and technical support. It is planned that by the end of 2007 the centre will have created up to 160 new jobs in the region.
The Centre for Advanced Industry (CAI) at Royal Quays in North Shields will be the base for the first EMAX contact centre.
EMAX took possession of the empty premises mid October and has transformed it into a 30-seat contact centre now ready for operation.
EMAX director Paul McFarling said: "Being from the North East, I was keen to set up a contact centre here and CAI offered us ideal premises for the first phase. We want to crate good careers here and all the jobs we offer are graduate level positions."
The CAI based call centre will be used for the first roll-out of the Selektpoints loyalty programme in the major Middle Eastern countries.
Paul added: "Another advantage of being in the North East is the high proportion of Arabic speakers in the region. The North East has the largest population of United Arab Emirates students in the UK."
The EMAX contact centre will provide customer service and technical support for Selektpoints end customers, merchants and banks. The second phase of the roll-out will focus on Europe and North America.
"We would like to reverse the trend of offshoring contact centre work and offer the pool of skilled contact centre workers in the North East excellent prospects and career opportunities.
