RAFT OF AWARDS FOR LOCAL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

26 February 2007

The North of England Microelectronics Institute (NEMI) is celebrating a haul of awards, making them one of the region's top workforce development specialists.

The organisation has recently gained a number of industry recognised quality standards, including ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System, an Adult Learning Inspectorate Approval and a successful re-accreditation as an Investor in People.

EMTA Award Ltd (EAL) has also approved NEMI as an NVQ and adult work based learning assessment centre.

NEMI's general manager John Williams said: "The whole team worked hard for these awards and we are proud that our efforts have been recognised. NEMI's aim is to support technology and engineering companies in the region. We have various means to do this, for example by devising effective workforce development programmes, provision of high quality office premises and cost efficient broadband infrastructure."
