In early 2002 it became clear that CAI was going to be full at some stage and further provision to meet the demand was required. The Fabriam Centre, some 3 km distant from CAI was planned as a joint venture between NEMI and Atmel North Tyneside Ltd and was completed in May 2003.

The partners, with substantial support from both the Single programme and European Regional Development Funds have converted approximately 3000m^2 in an superb mix of offices, project and meeting rooms, incubator units and a creative thinking facility fully supported by a state of the art telecoms. infrastructure and supporting services.

The rooms are fitted out to a standard to attract the very best and to allow firms to the kind of facilities that would normally only be available to large corporates - and at a highly cost effective all-in price.
